A knife comprises a handle 10 and a blade 12 moulded integrally in a synthetic plastics material, a serrated cutting edge of the blade being provided by a stainless steel insert 14 which has holes 16 so that it is keyed in position during moulding of the knife. The knife may be for cutting steak or cheese or be for table use.
