Abstract

1,155,389. Delivering sheets. A. B. DICK CO. 23 Aug., 1966 [26 Aug., 1965; 1 Aug., 1966], No. 37836/66. Heading B8R. [Also in Division G2] A pair of superposed sheets 14, 12, after passing round a sheet-handling drum 20 with the leading edge of the sheet 14 slightly in advance of that of the sheet 12, engage a stripper comprising a finger 36 adjustably secured to an arm 37 pivoted at 38. The sheet 14 acts to swing the finger 36 downwards and to the right against the force of a spring 46. The sheet 12 passes over the edge of the finger and to a deflector plate 32. The sheet 14 is temporarily retained by a shoulder 51d formed by a tip portion 50d of the finger, so as to be bent to the right away from the sheet 12. As the sheet 14 is further bent, it forces itself over the shoulder, and the sheet passes to a guide 146. The release of the sheet 14 may be assisted by stationary stripper blades 53. The tip portion 50d may be of various shapes, and may extend across the finger or be only in the centre thereof. The last part of the movement of the finger may be accelerated by an electromagnet 100 energized on closing of switches 112, 114 closed by the sheets 12, 14 on their way to the drum.
