Abstract

1,154,563. Spray-producers. GRAVINER (COLNBROOK).Ltd. 20 July, 1966 [14 May, 1965], No.. 20376/65. Heading B2F. A nozzle suitable for use with fire-extinguishing apparatus is adapted to spray a fluid or fluidised material in. a wide flat spray with a part thereof of higher density than the rest, said nozzle having a side wing extending asymmetrically from a main portion of the nozzle and decreasing in width with increasing distance upstream of the nozzle outlet. Examples are given of suitable nozzle constructions. The nozzle outlet may be generally enlongated in a horizontal plane with a portion at the centre, figs 1c, 2b, 4b (not shown) or at the end, fig. 3b (not shown) of substantially greater depth. The or each wing is of maximum width at the nozzle outlet and its width is substantially greater than that of the main portion.
