Abstract

1,207,877. Spray producers. HAWK PLASTICS Ltd. 5 Aug., 1969 [7 Aug., 1968], No. 37660/68. Heading B2F. Nozzles for liquids are made of deformable material, and have one or more internal projections 18 that can be displaced, by deforming the delivery portion of the nozzle, from a position in the path of liquid flowing through the nozzle to a position substantially clear of said path or vice versa. The projection(s) may be of triangular pyramidal form and the nozzle may be made of resilient plastics material. Water from a hose passing a constriction at 3 strikes the projection 18 and issues as a spray. On applying pressure to the walls 15, 16 the walls 13, 14 move apart, the projection 18 moves out of the path of the water which then issues as a jet. Alternatively the projections may be mounted on walls 15, 16 whereby pressure converts a jet to a spray.
