Abstract

1,154,102. Weft measuring devices; shuttleless looms. SULZER BROS. Ltd. 25 Aug., 1966 [6 Oct., 1965], No. 38219/66. Heading D1E. A weft measuring device comprises a continuously rotating disc 23, with notches 24 in which weft 10 from a supply 11 is engaged and wound on the periphery of the disc when a yarn guide lever 37 is moved inwardly. A ring 55 prevents ballooning of the weft when the guide 37 is moved outwardly and the weft is drawn endwise off the disc 23 for picking. When more than one weft supply 11, 11b is utilised the ring 55 is provided with gaps 63, 63b Fig. 2, adjacent each guide lever 37, 37b to allow the passage to, and the withdrawal from, the interior of the ring on the weft selection and the completion of the pick respectively.
