Abstract

Device includes a drum on which a number of reserve windings are formed to define a predetermined length of weft yarn and the reserve windings are drawn off axially from the drum and fed to the shuttle of a loom. Pref. a yarn gripper retains the yarn when all of the reserve windings have been withdrawn from the drum and pref. a photoelectric device is provided to count the number of reserve windings formed. Device operates continuously and ensures that the exact length of yarn is fed to the shuttle.
