Abstract

Empty bobbin spools are mounted on a rotating drum, which inches around under an inching drive through gearing from the loom drive. As each spool is presented to a winding unit, where weft yarn is wound into position, the length of time in place determines yarn length wound on to the spool. As teh spool is carried round to the loom, the yarn connection to the adjacent spool is cut, and the loaded spool with its correct length of weft yarn inserted into the loom shuttle.
