Abstract

115,401. Alfsen, H. Sept. 13, 1917, [Convention date]. Concrete vessels.-In casting reinforced-concrete ships or vessels in an inverted position, the centering 4 for carrying the inner mould is supported on the bottom slab or floor 1 by means of distance blocks 3 so that the deck 2 can be cast in one operation with the hull. The boards 4 of the centering are arranged to form sheathing for the casting of deck ribs and ether parts. The distance blocks 3 may consist of wedge-shaped blocks of wood, which can be removed, or they may be of stone, concrete, or the like, and shaped to be embedded permanently in the structure. A double bcttom can be moulded by means of an additional mould supported on distance blocks 6 laid on the sheathing 5 for the inner bottom.
