Abstract
1,153,070. Enamelled wire conductors. BRITISH INSULATED CALLENDER'S CABLES Ltd. 27 Sept., 1967 [28 Sept., 1966], No. 43412/66. Heading H1A. In an enamelled wire conductor for an ignition coil, a fibrous reinforcing yarn of high tensile strength is held in contact with the high conductivity metal conductor by the enamel coating. The yarn may be of organic material, e.g. polyethylene, terephthalate, polyamide. polyimide polysulphone or polypropylene, or of inorganic material, e.g. glass or lava fibre. The enamel, which may be a polyurethane or a conventional wire enamel, is cured at a temperature, e.g. 160‹ C., insufficiently high to have any serious effect on the tensile strength of the yarn.
