Abstract
943,151. Coating electric conductors with plastic insulation. LUMALAMPAN A.B. June 9, 1961 [June 22, 1960], No. 21012/61. Heading B5A. [Also in Division D1] A conducting wire 1 is insulated by passing it through a bath of molten plastic material 2 (such as polythene maintained at 150‹ C.) and thereupon through a die 7 with a conical hole of about 10 degrees apex angle, the smallest diameter d of which is about 23% larger than that of the uncoated conductor. The length L of the hole is three times the said diameter d.
