A sheath for protecting a cable where it enters a housing 4 consists of two oppositely wound thermoplastics filament groups 7, 8 arranged in different layers and terminated at either end in rings 5, 6 of the same material. The filaments may be quite independent or they may be joined together at the points of mutual contact, and they may have any crosssectional shape. Reference is made to the application of the sheath to a two-part connector having contacts 2 disposed in an insulating body 1 enclosed by a metal jacket 3 in the housing 4.
