Abstract

1,152,477. Photo-sensitive diazotype composition. GENERAL ANILINE & FILM CORP. Sept.20, 1966 [Oct. 19, 1965], No.41881/66. Heading G2C. A two-component diazotype composition comprises an aqueous solution of a diazonium compound, an azo coupler, a xanthine compound and an imidazoledione compound of formula where R 1 to R 4 are hydrogen, aryl, aralkyl, alkaryl, cycloalkyl or alkyl with 1 to 4 carbon atoms. Specified xanthines are caffeine, theophylline and theobromine whereas hydantoin, 1-ethyl-5,5-dimethyl-and 1,5 dimethyl-hydantoin are specified imidazolediones. These two components act as stabilizers and have a synergistic effect in this respect as well as aiding solubility of the diazo and coupler in aqueous solutions.
