1,043,836. Developing photosensitive materials. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATION. May 20, 1965 [May 25, 1964], No. 21315/65. Heading G2C. Latent images in diazotype materials which comprise a diazonium compound, an azo coupler and an acidic compound as stabilizer are developed by treating the material with anhydrous ammonia gas or vapour at above atmospheric pressure to reduce development time. Pressures from 14. 7 to 140 p.s.i.a. may be used and the ammonia gas may be mixed with air (which may contain a trace of water vapour) or with other gases. Room temperature is normally used but temperatures from 40‹ to 212‹F. may be used for development.
