Abstract

1,141,622. Photo-solubilizable silver halide materials. E. I. DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO. July 25, 1966 [Aug. 9, 1965], No.33296/66. Heading G2C. Photo-solubilizable silver halide emulsion layers as described in Specification 1, 031, 902 are made spontaneously developable in photographic silver halide developing solutions by incorporating therein an amine borane e.g. picoline borane, trimethylamine borane, morpholine borane, tbutylamine borane, dimethyl - dodecylamineborane, and dimethyl octadecylamine borane. The preferred compounds for rendering the silver halide photo-solubilizable are 2-mercapto-4-hydrocarbon thiazoles. The exposed emulsion is developed by treatment with a silver halide solvent followed by a silver halide developing agent.
