Abstract

1,152,282. Plastics bags with vents; packaging in heat-shrunk material. AMERICAN CAN CO. 14 March, 1967, No. 42285/67. Divided out of 1,152,281. Headings B8C and B8K. Air can escape from a bag through a vent 5 which is closed, as the bag is heat-shrunk about its contents, by engagement with an inner folded ear 4. The bag may be formed of two plastics sheets, one only of which is heatshrinkable, sealed together along three sides. The mouth of the bag is preferably not shrunk, thus facilitating removal of the contents. The invention may be applied to packaging sliced loaves.
