Abstract

1,151,880. Ionization manometers. LEYBOLD-HERAEUS-VERWALTUNG G.m.b.H. 14 Sept., 1967 [7 Oct., 1966], No. 42036/67. Heading H1D. The anode 2 of an ionization vacuum gauge is in thermal contact with an electric heater 3, enabling the anode to be outgassed during vacuum measurement. As shown a helical coil anode 2 is supported by welding at points 5 to the tubular metal sheaths of two heaters 3 and 4 containing ceramic carriers 6 and 7 of bifilar resistance windings 8 and 9. The sheaths are preferably of the same metal as the anode, e.g. platinum. An axial wide collector 1 is provided. The anode may alternatively be a cylindrical mesh.
