Abstract

1,150,898. Mounting weapons. OERLIKONBUHRLE HOLDING A.G. 4 Aug., 1966 [5 Aug., 1965], No. 35052/66. Heading F3C. An automatic weapon includes a mounting and a part able to recoil relatively to the mounting, the recoiling part being slidable on two slides 10, 24. Each slide is mounted on a support 80, 81, the supports being on the same side of the mounting and the two slides and their supports are spaced apart one behind the other in the direction of the firing axis of the gun. In the construction shown, the mounting comprises a bracket 41 having two sleeves 7 projecting therefrom, the sleeves for housing the two supports 80, 81. Each support 80, 81 is held in a slide 10, 24 by a bolt 12 which cooperates with a groove in the support. The axis of the part of the support 81 which extends into the slide 24 is offset from the axis of the corresponding sleeve 7 and thus rotation of support 81 in the slide 24 adjusts the position of the slide in a vertical direction (Figs. 6, 7, not shown). A hinged cover 13 which carries the ammunition feed components is pivoted on the slide 10 and locked to the slide 24 by a lever and bar assembly. The bracket 41 is provided with a toothed segment for elevating the weapon (Fig. 1, not shown) and the weapon is trained by mounting the same on a turret of an armoured vehicle. The weapon is also provided with a recuperator device (Fig. 5, not shown) comprising a pair of ring springs.
