Abstract
1,253,184. Air guns. P. POMMIER, and J. DESVEAUD. 10 March, 1970 [9 July, 1969], No. 11517/70. Heading F3C. A loading apparatus on a drop down barrel air gun comprises a magazine 7 which is movable into and out of a cover 1 against and under the bias of a leaf spring 5 respectively, the leaf spring 5 being disposed between the cover mounted on the barrel and the magazine. The arrangement is such that with the apparatus mounted on the barrel of air gun in the firing condition the magazine is held in the cover 1 with the forward end of the leaf spring covering the opening of the magazine (Fig. 2, not shown) but when the gun is broken the magazine is urged downwardly to align the opening thereof with the breech of the barrel. The magazine is either attached to the cover by pivoted links the extent of the pivoting thereof being determined by screws mounted in the upper wall of the cover (Fig. 3, not shown) or by the leaf spring which is in this case riveted to the magazine (Fig. 5, not shown). A fixing element for the cover comprises a slot for receiving a transverse pin in the cover and a ball catch which co-operates with a sleeve of a leaf spring retaining pin also in the cover (Figs. 2, 4, not shown). The element may have a dovetail connection with the air gun or co-operate with the rear sight. The cover is trapezoidal.
