Abstract
1,103,613. Cartridge magazines. BOFORS A.B. 12 May, 1965 [13 May, 1964], No. 20079/65. Heading F3C. A cartridge magazine for an automatic gun comprises a compartment 4 for cartridges located in a vertical row one above the other with their longitudinal axes extending horizontally and a cartridge retainer located within the compartment. Each retainer includes at least two retaining arms 8 which are secured to and pivotable with a shaft 7, the arms 8 being urged to a position in which they project into the compartment 4 by a tension spring 9. Each arm 8 extends into a further arm 15 on which is pivotally mounted a spring-loaded catch member 10 having a releasing means 11 and cooperating in its cartridge retaining position with a stationary abutment 14. The operative parts of the releasing means are in the same horizontal plane such that before the cartridge retainer allows a cartridge to pass under its own weight, the cartridge must be in a horizontal position. Cartridges are introduced into the magazine through a door located at the top of each compartment (Fig. 1, not shown).
