Abstract
1,150,596. Chain hoists. KITO-SEISAKU. SHO, K.K. 7 Nov., 1966 [20 Dec., 1965(2)], No. 49854/66. Heading B8B. A chain hoist comprises a frame 1 rotatably mounting a sprocket 2 over which a lifting chain 3 passes, a bucket 6 for storing hoisted chain, and guide means 7 through which the chain is passed on its way to the bucket. The chain guide 7 has a cross-section in the form of four channels at right angles to each other to mate with the chain. The latter is fed into the guide 7 diametrically opposite the point where the load supporting portion of the chain leaves the sprocket, and is assisted thereinto by a detachment piece 8 and a grooved chain holder piece 9. The chain is fed upwardly from the sprocket to fall into the bucket 6 supported in or on the frame above the sprocket. In another embodiment the guide is formed by four angle members creating the four channels between them. In this embodiment the chain may be led horizontally from the top of the sprocket.
