Abstract

1,150,085. Safety harnesses. TELEFLEX PRODUCTS Ltd. 28 April, 1966 [28 Jan., 1965], No. 3832/65. Heading A3V. A safety harness consists of two separate side portions which pass over the wearer's shoulders and extend down to fixed anchorages 14 either on the seat or on the vehicle structure, the side portions having means for fastening them together at an intermediate position along their lengths immediately in front of the wearer's body. The side portions may be straps 16 the upper ends of which are taken to a harness reel 13, which may be of the inertia type, in the seat back. The straps may be joined together by a sliding clasp fastener 15. Alternatively the side portions may comprise two apertured flaps of flexible material integral with the seat and taking the form of a partial waistcoat.
