Abstract
1,149,653. Hand-tool handles; screwdrivers. H. N. MATTHEW. 13 May, 1966, No. 21359/66. Headings B4K and B4W. [Also in Division H2] The screwdriver shown incorporates an insulation stripper consisting of two flat blades in a channel 38 in the handle. The lower one 40 is fixed, the upper one 42 slidable by a finger-piece 60; both have holes, 55 and 56, with bevelled cutting edges. Initially, the two holes are aligned with each other and with further holes in the screwdriver handle and the cable is pushed through the holes. The cutting edges of the holes are engaged with the insulation by pressure on the finger-piece 60. The blade 42 may also be moved by the fingerpiece 60 to project from the handle to act as a knife, the blade being sharpened. A hook-like member 65 mounted beside the shank 17 enables wires to be bent between it and the shank.
