Abstract

1,144,999. Timepiece cases. E. PIQUEREZ. Feb. 19, 1968 [Feb.24, 1967], No.7991/68. Heading G3T. A timepiece case comprises a middle bezel 4 having a housing in which a glass 1 is fitted, the glass being surrounded by a screw threaded extrac - tion ring 2 and either the glass or the bezel being screw threaded to receive the ring so that on unscrewing the ring the glass is removed from the housing. As shown, the glass 1 has threads 11 and the ring is screwed on to the glass before force fitting the glass in the middle bezel housing. Slits 3 to receive a tool are provided in the ring so that on unscrewing the ring, the glass is removed from the housing in the direction of the arrow 7. In the modification in which the ring is screwed on to the middle bezel, the upper surface of the ring bears against a lip on the glass when the ring is unscrewed thereby lifting the glass from its housing.
