Abstract

1,143,397. Hot plate stoves. SIMPLEX ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. 22 June, 1966 [2 July, 1965], No. 28025/65. Heading F4W. [Also in Division H5] In a cooking stove, tubular sheathed electrical heating elements of hot-plate units 28, 30 are supported on openwork supports 26, 27, the drip tray beneath the elements being sufficiently spaced therefrom to allow cleaning of the drip tray while the elements are still hot. The openwork supports 26, 27 are supported by flanges of bars 23 of inverted truncated V-shaped crosssection. The walls of the stove are hollow, the electrical connections to the heating elements and the control devices therefor being located within the hollow interior, the cover to the hollow interior comprising a removable inverted channel-shaped member (16, Fig. 2) which affords a water-tight seal. The operating knobs 34 of the control devices are located above the channel-shaped member and are protected against accidental damage during removal of cooking utensils by a raised inner margin 17.
