Abstract

1,143,197. Air cushion vehicles. BERTIN & CIE. 9 May, 1966 [7 May, 1965], No. 42193/68. Divided out of 1,143,196. Heading B7K. An air cushion vehicle has a deflectable cushion-containing wall pivoted at 7 to structure 1 and constructed to form a convergentdivergent passage for fluid from the cushion 2 by forming it with a downwardly inclined portion 8b and an upwardly inclined portion 8a, the apex 8c forming a desired daylight clearance at point 10 and causing a flow separation so that escaping cushion air is contained within height h. The wall is urged downwardly against cushion pressure by a spring 9 which may be associated with a damper to reduce oscillations.
