Abstract
1,142,480. Insoles. FRATELLI ROTELLI S.r.L. 9 May, 1966 [14 Dec., 1965], No. 20340/66. Heading A3B. A reinforced insole consists, over at least part of its length, of two outer plies 1, 2 and an injection moulded intermediate ply 3 of synthetic plastics material which bonds the two outer plies 1, 2 together. The outer plies 1, 2 may be leather, imitation leather, linen, cardboard or plastics material and may be formed by splitting a single insole blank as shown or from two separate insole blanks (not shown). The insole is made by placing the outer plies 1, 2 in a mould and then injecting plastics material between them, the mould being of such a shape that the insole conforms to the shape of the shoe and the lower surface of the foot. The layer 3 may be impermeable for use in weatherproof footwear or may be perforated to provide ventilation in summer footwear.
