Abstract

1,142,189. Withdrawing moulding-tubes for cast in-situ piles. ICELS PALI S.p.A. 9 May, 1967 [18 May, 1966], No. 21447/67. Headings E1F and E1H. In the formation of cast in-situ piles, moulding tubes 16, 22 are inserted into the ground with cables 10, 11 of a withdrawing device attached to the lower end of the tube 16 so that the tubes may be withdrawn after the concrete, which may be reinforced, is poured into the tubes. During withdrawal of the tubes the concrete may be consolidated by vibrating or ramming, and additional concrete may be added to the pile. The tubes are extracted by operating hydraulic jacks 2,2' to raise winches 8, 9 which are connected to the cables 10, 11, the winches being prevented from rotation by pawls 24. When the resistance to extraction of the tubes falls the operation of the jacks is stopped and the winches are hydraulically operated to increase the speed of extraction whilst using the same power.
