Abstract

1,138,999. Switchgear structures. ETABS. MERLIN & GERIN S.A. 4 May, 1967 [6 May, 1966], No. 20740/67. Heading H1N. A switchgear comprises a plurality of cells 10,11,12 each comprising a plurality of chambers 13a-13f arranged one above another, each chamber having a fixed isolating switch 35 whose movable blades engage with fixed contacts and the terminals 21, 22 of a withdrawable switch unit. The cells 10, 11, 12 are served by horizontal bus-bars in a chamber 14 having vertical branch bars 15 serving the individual chambers. The isolating switches of a cell are arranged one above the other behind a transparent front panel 29 which allows the contact position to be seen. Each blade 35 of the isolating switch consists of four pairs of gripping fingers (Figs. 4-7, not shown) and in the closed position projects through an opening (39) in a vertical partition (38) between the bus-bar chamber 16 and the chambers 13a-13f ; shutters (40) coupled to the contacts 35 cover the openings (39) in the open position. The isolating switch is provided, on the same shaft 31, with a plurality of auxiliary contacts 36 for control equipment 20 in the withdrawable unit. The contacts 36 are arranged to connect the terminals 26 to test contacts (27a) (Figs. 8-10, not shown) in an intermediate position of the isolating switch. The isolating contacts may be mounted on several parallel coupled shafts.
