Abstract

Switching or control station for electrical power supplies has the various component groups isolated within four separate compartments or cells. The primary circuit breaker in its own cell is positioned symmetrically between two of the compartments each holding two sets of conductors. The circuit breaker contacts move around an arc, the centrally positioned take-off connector feeding a contact breaker in the same compartment. The fourth cell houses the power cable output connectors, the grounding contactor and step down circuitry for monitoring purposes, protection relays. Control switches are mounted at a height suitable for manual control on the front face of the third compartment.
