Abstract

1,137,011. Roofs. OVERLY MFG., CO. 19 Dec., 1966 [26 July, 1966], No. 56760/66. Heading E1W. A sloping roof is covered with rectangular metal sheets 10E arranged in rows transversely of the roof and in overlapping rows in the direction of the slope, each margin of each sheet having a flange which terminates in an inturned portion 12a, 14a, 15' spaced from the plane of the sheet, the down slope flange of each sheet engaging behind the upslope flange of the underlying sheet to retain these members against vertical separation, there being metal members 16a, which may constitute drain channels, engaging behind the flanges 14a along the sloping sides of the sheets to connect adjacent sheets and clips, 21a and Z connecting the covering to a roof supporting structure. The sheets shown in the embodiment of Fig. 10 are mounted on a stepped roof deck 28, Fig. 3B. The channels 16a in some embodiments are mounted on battens (not shown in Fig. 10) which are tapered along their length for use with roof decks of non- stepped configuration. Construction and arrangements of roof covering members at the ridge and eaves and sloping roof edges are described and shown.
