[Also in Divisions B8 and E2] An articulated trailer is provided with conveyer rollers 27 housed by two parallel stringers 28 along which at least three cargo containers 14 provided with corner blocks 13 can be easily moved. Longitudinally extending guide rails 10 are spaced to guide and retain the cargo containers 14 and have gaps 12 (see Fig. 4), which register with the corner blocks 13 of the containers 14 loaded on to the trailer. Fastenings 18 are hinged at the gaps 12, each fastening 18 having a protuberance which, when the fastening 18 is raised, fits into an aperture into the corner block 13 aligned therewith. Each fastening 18 has a bolt 22 arranged to slide through bolt holes 16 and 21, aligned when the fastening 18 is raised, to retain the fastening 18 in its raised position. Each bolt 22 can be held in its retaining position by a turnbuckle 25 arranged to pass through an opening 24 in a member 23 attached to the bolt 22 and then being given a partial turn. Seals may be attached to the turnbuckles 25 to prevent unauthorized tampering therewith. Each protuberance 19 may be rotatable and an arm (not shown) carried thereby arranged to engage an inner face of a corner block when the fastening 18 is raised and the protuberance 19 given a partial rotation. Tunnels 31 formed in the floors 30 of the containers 14 form cavities for the reception of prongs of a fork-lift.
