Abstract

1,134,220. Change speed control. WISSENSCHAFTLICH - TECHNISCHES ZENTRUM AUTOMOBILBAU. 30 June, 1966, No. 29412/66. Heading F2D. In a gear shift mechanism for a motor vehicle wherein shift forks 10, 10<SP>1</SP>, 10<SP>11</SP> have annular and axial grooves (17)... (21) which selectively cooperate with axially fixed looking balls 7, 7<SP>1</SP>, 7<SP>11</SP> and pairs of dogs 3, (3<SP>1</SP>); 4, (4<SP>1</SP>); 5, (5<SP>1</SP>) integral with an axially slidable and rotatable selector tube 2 so that only one shift fork may be moved axially at a time whilst the other shift forks are locked against axial movement, all the grooves are formed in the hub of each shift fork thereby permitting identical shift forks to be used for all ratios. The operation is identical with that described in Specification 1,110,388. The position of the shaft 6 may be adjusted axially by screws 15, 16 and the ball detent 23 is mounted eccentrically in a screw 11, rotation of which adjusts the neutral and ratio positions of the tube 2. Recesses 25, 26 in the shaft 6 facilitate assembly.
