Abstract

1,132,335. Ovens. H. V. MANSFIELD. 12 April, 1966 [12 Jan., 1965], No. 1281/65. Heading F4W. Heavy heat storage members 2 and 3, of any suitable material, are disposed along the top and bottom walls of an oven 1, which is heated by burners 5 impinging on the corrugated underside of member 3, the oven being substantially sealed, when closed by a door 13, except for a steam vent 8. A warming compartment 20, disposed above member 2, derives its heat from this member and from a flue 6, both the oven 1 and the storage compartment 20 being surrounded by insulating material 4 contained within an outer casing 7. In a modification (Figs. 5, 6 and 7, not shown), member 2 is formed into a hot-plate having partially recessed burners (22) and a hinged insulated cover (23). In either of the two embodiments, the heat storage members may also be provided on the back and/or the side oven walls, any or all of which members having external gas burners.
