An electric cooking oven comprises an oven unit spaced from an outer casing and two doors, one closing the oven unit and the other the outer casing. An electric oven, Fig. 1, comprises a double-walled unit 1, 2, with insulation 3 between the walls, supported within and spaced from an outer casing 4 by insulated angle irons 6. A removable enamelled lining 12 carries shelf runners 13. Doors 7, 8 are spaced apart by a sliding spring-loaded insulating link (not shown) which uncouples when the doors are fully opened. In an alternative door construction, Fig. 3, the door 7 is carried by spring-loaded or resilient spacers 11 on the door 8 which press the door 7 against the face of the unit 1, 2. The oven may be embodied in a cooker and be surmounted by a heated compartment 20.
