The lamp consists of a body 10 of flexible material having a peripheral flange 12 formed with a lip 13 extending in front of it, and a transparent or translucent cover 11 having a flange 19 secured to the body 10 by fasteners 20 concealed by the lip 13. The body has internal moulded portions 15 supporting a gear tray 16 carrying control gear 17 for fluorescent discharge tubes 18.
