Abstract

871,007. Electric light fittings. REVO ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. March 15, 1960 [March 20, 1959], No. 9709/59. Classes 75(2) and 75(4). In a fitting of the type comprising a boxlike housing consisting of a top panel 3 for mounting flush with the ceiling, four opaque side walls 5 and a transparent, translucent or apertured cover 8, strips 7 of transparent or translucent material are interposed between the upper edges of the walls 5 and the panel 3 so that light from tubular fluorescent lamps arranged in holders 10 within the housing is diffused on to adjacent parts of the ceiling. The side walls 5 may be of channel section, the cover 8 being dished and provided with a rim supported on the inturned lower edges of the side walls. In 'place of a cover as shown a louvre of intersecting strips may be used. Control apparatus 11 for the lamps may also be mounted within the housing.
