[Also in Division H1] A thermostatically controlled electric switch comprises a lubricated plug 3 Fig. 1 of silicone rubber slidably mounted within a cylinder 4 and actuating the contacts through a piston 7 of substantially the same cross-section. The plug 3 is adjustable by an abutment 9 on an internally threaded temperature control knob 10, the setting being indicated on a heat conducting disc 11 held by nuts 12, 13 which provide initial scale adjustment. The plug 3 may be lubricated by a film of p. t. f. e. or molybdenum disulphide which latter may also be mixed into the rubber. The piston 7 has a ceramic stud 8 engaging an actuator arm 14 of a snap-action electric switch (see Division H1).
