Abstract

667,615. Thermal switches. RHEOSTATIC CO., Ltd. Feb. 23, 1950. No. 4704/50. Class 38 (v). In a thermostat having a magnetic snapaction switch such as that of Specification 625,492, the switch is actuated by a rod-andtube thermal member 3, 4 through the medium of a right-angled lever 33, 34 which is provided with pivot projections 36 engaging projections 37 on the base 1 of the thermostat. The lever 33, 34 is anchored by means of a.spring member 35, which is formed with slots engaged by fixing screws 41, 42, so that the pivots 36 of the lever can be so positioned on the base that the desired lever ratio between the effective portions of the two arms 33, 34 is made correct for the chosen length of the thermal member. The arm 33 is provided with a screw 32 which engages a spring loaded plunger 31 in an adjusting screw 25 having a nut 28 within an insulating block 29 which engages the contact carrying spring lever 13 of the switch. Rotation of the block 29 and nut 28 is prevented by a plate 18, so that the temperature setting of the thermostat may be adjusted on turning the screw 25 by means of a slotted coupling 26 engaging a pin 27 carried by the screw.
