Abstract

1,131,398. Electrodynamic transducers. P. MAUZ. 17 Feb., 1966 [17 Feb., 1965], No. 7004/66. Heading H4J. An electrodynamic transducer, e.g. a loudspeaker, comprises a pot-shaped magnet structure having a cylindrical air gap in which is a moving coil 5 connected to a membrane 8. The poles 6, 7 on either side of the gap comprise a plurality of annular discs or rings made of metal and stacked upon one another or otherwise disposed adjacent one another, in the direction of movement of the coil, so that each disc or ring lies in a plane transverse to the direction of movement of the coil. The discs or rings may be of iron, either preformed as segments or formed in situ in grooves in the magnetic structure, e.g. from iron paste. The magnet structure comprises an iron disc 1, a sintered magnetic iron ring 2 and an iron pole-ring 3. A core 4 is attached to the disc 1 by a screw-thread or by adhesion. Parts 1, 2, 3 may be glued.
