Abstract
1,130,622. Continuous casting. GOSUDARSTVENNY SOJUZNY INSTITUT PO PROEKTIROVANIJU METALLURGICHESKIKH ZAVODOV. 4 July, 1966 [7 Oct., 1965; 25 Feb., 1966], No. 29973/66. Heading B3F. Oil for lubricating the inside of a vertical continuous-casting mould 4 is supplied from a tank 1 by a pump 2 through a flow-regulating valve 3 to an annular manifold duct 6 around the mould and from which the oil passes up through a ring of conduits 7 to an annular recess 8 open towards the mould axis and from which the oil flows into the mould cavity. The annular duet 6 may be a conduit adjacent the mould or formed in the mould, but as depicted it is formed in an extension 5 which surmounts the mould 4. The recess 8 is the space created between an annular plate 11 and the top of the extension 5 by a gasket 9.
