Abstract
1374990 Casting moulds GEORG FISCHER AG 29 Dec 1971 [31 Dec 1970] 60541/71 Heading B3F A whirlgate for a steel casting mould comprises three separate parts 8, 9, 10. Each of these parts 8, 9, 10 consists of more than one element 11, the elements being assembled and held together by a bonding agent. As shown, an outlet chamber part 8 is provided with a tangential outlet 13 adjoining a runner 6 and an annular flow duct 12. In alternative embodiments the outlet 13 may be radial to the outlet chamber part 8 and/or several outlets may be provided. An inlet chamber part 9 is mounted upon the outlet chamber part and is provided with a tangential inlet adjoining a sprue 3. On top of the inlet chamber part 9, a cylindrical part 10 is mounted to form a whirlgater reservoir 14.
