Abstract
1,130,424. Hardening steels. USTAV PRO ROZVOJ STROJRENSKHO SPOTREBNHO ZBOZ. June 9, 1966 [June 11, 1965], No.25687/66. Heading C7A. Steel articles such as knife blades, knife springs, razor blades, and roller bearings, particularly those made from hypereutectoid steel, are austenitized and then hardened in two stages, the first of which involves cooling to within 100 C. of the M s temperature, followed immediately by a second stage in which the steel is cooled to sub-ambient temperature to convert residual austenite to martensite.
