Abstract

1,129,714. Hay-tedders. C. VAN DER LELY N.V. 16 Aug., 1966 [19 Aug., 1965], No. 36718/66. Heading A1F. A drum-tedder 5 is provided with cropguides 12 at its rear to confine the discharged crop to a windrow narrower than the swath worked, the guides including a portion 17 which extends, in its lower part, forwardly relative to the rearmost part of the tined drum and carries a series of upstanding fins 18 between which the tines 19 of the drum pass in a forward direction so that crop which fails to be discharged rearwardly between the guides is carried forwardly again for re-engagement by the tines. The tines rotate clockwise (arrow B) beneath an arcuate hood 11 to the rear outer edges of which the guides are attached, being suspended by cables 13 at their inner ends. To prevent forward kicking of crop and stones by the tines 19, a pivoted plate 23 is hung from a shaft 21 carried by outriggers 20. The portion 17 and fins 18 may be of rubber, glass-fibre or other non-metallic material.
