Abstract

1318005 Haymaking machines WELGER Gebr 19 April 1971 [19 Feb 1970] 22094/71 Heading A1F In a crop conditioning machine a reel 4 picks up the cut crop and throws it at a speed of more than 10 metres/second against a roller 5 to bend and thereby break open the stalks and to deflect the crop through 90‹. In the embodiment the crop is thrown against a second roller 16 which deflects it against plate 14 from which it falls to the ground guided by pivotally adjustable strips 15 to form swaths. The reel 4 carries freely pivoted double tines and the rollers 5, 6 have ribs 9 which may be parallel to the roller axes, helical or in a herringbone arrangement. The machine is mounted on a tractor 3-point lift linkage and the reel 4, roller 5 and roller 6 are driven at peripheral speeds of 15, 20 and 25 m/sec from the p.t.o. via articulated telescopic shaft 10 bevel gears 11 and V belts 12, 13.
