Abstract

1,128,279. Egg &c. boxes. T. C. BAKER. 14 Aug., 1967, No. 37168/67. Heading B8P. A carton for eggs &c. comprises a tray unit T-1, and a cover unit C-1 which has a pair of plastics end pieces 26 and an intermediate paperboard part 27, the part 27 being hinged to a part 38 which is secured to the tray unit as by adhesive and tongues 39. The end portions 26 and the tray unit are preferably of transparent plastics and the hinge line 40 is weakened for easy removal of the cover unit. In a modification, Figs. 8-10 (not shown), the cover does not have the flange shown in Fig. 1 or the lower front edge engages in recesses pressed in a flange of the tray unit.
