Abstract

1,127,960. Clips; suspended ceilings. UNITED CARR Inc. 22 May, 1967 [10 June, 1966], No. 23666/67. Headings E1W and E2B. A hanger 1 for snapping engagement with a bead 15 of a flanged beam 12 comprises a base portion 2 having means 3 for engaging a fastener member, and a plurality of flexible legs 4 projecting generally normally from the base portion, the legs being disposed in spaced. bead-engaging cooperating pairs, the legs forming each pair being separated over at least a portion of the length thereof by a slot 6 having enlarged bead-receiving portion 5, each of the legs having an angularly disposed fin 9 adjacent the free end thereof, the fin on one leg of each pair extending in a direction opposite to that of the fin on the other leg, the fins on each pair of legs presenting opposed, inclined facing surfaces 10 adapted to guide the legs over the bead when the hanger is snapped on to the beam. As shown, the hanger is bolted to a clip 14 which is snapped on to a cross beam 13.
