Abstract

1,127,388. Turn-bolt fastenings. ARTHUR SHAW & CO. Ltd. 28 April, 1967 [28 April, 1966], No. 18634/66. Heading E2A. A turn-bolt fastener comprises a bolt 8 pivoted within a casing 1 having an aperture 3 and is rotatable by a handle 11 mounted on the casing between positions in which it lies wholly within the casing and projects from the casing through the aperture, wherein in either of these positions, the bolt is held against rotary movement by a resilient tongue 15 which is integral with the bolt, contacts the wall 2 of the casing and at least when the bolt is in one of the positions, is flexed and stressed by the wall. As shown, the handle is pinned to a spigot 10 projecting through a boss on the casing and the bolt and tongue unit consists of a nylon or other plastics moulding. In another arrangement, Figs. 3-5 (not shown), the bolt is provided with two resilient tongues which co-operate with two adjacent walls of the casing.
