Abstract

1,125,966. Change-speed gear. GRAF-CIE A.G. 26 Oct., 1965 [12 Nov., 1964], No. 45229/65. Heading F2D. [Also in Division D1] In a two speed device a housing 3, 4 carries electromagnets 6, 7 through which an input shaft 1 is rotatably mounted. Shaft 1 has keyed thereon flanges 14, 15 having friction layers 16, 17 and has rotatably and slidably mounted thereon gear-wheels 22, 23 which carry plates 20, 21 respectively. Gears 22, 23 which having different numbers of teeth, co-operate with gear wheels 24, 25 mounted together on an output shaft 2. The electromagnets can be alternately excited so that plate 20 or 21 together with gear 22 or 23 is drawn into contact with flanges 14 or 15 and thus a high or low speed drive transmitted.
