Abstract

1,125,654. Spray carburetters. ALTAISKY POLITEKHNICHESKY INSTITUT. Feb. 21, 1966, No. 7420/66. Heading F1B. An economiser valve in a carburetter is actuated from the throttle operating linkage 1 through a friction coupling 2 . . . 4 which slips after a predetermined movement in either direction. The spindle 1 has discs 2, 3, secured thereto and a friction disc 4 rotatable thereon, the disc 4 being connected to means for controlling the economiser valve. A projection 8 on the disc 4 co-operates with an adjustable abutment 12 when the economiser valve is closed. When the throttle valve is opened the disc 4 opens the economiser valve after a predetermined last motion. A projection 10 on the disc 3 engages the projection 8 near full throttle position to ensure positive movement of the disc 4 to open the economiser valve if the friction coupling should fail. In a modification Fig. 3 (not shown) the friction coupling comprises a rod (14) connected to a movable casing (13) by a spring- loaded plunger (15), the rod controlling the economiser valve (17) and the positive overriding action being provided by contact of the casing (13) with a plunger (18) on the rod.
