Abstract

1,124,970. Calibration of electrical gas analysers. SCHOLVEN-CHEMIE A.G. Dec. 23, 1965 [Dec. 28, 1964], No. 54666/65. Heading G1N. The calibration of gas analyser instrument 7 is tested by a programmed calibration unit which injects a test gas from conduits 9 or 10 into the analyzer and compares the voltage therefrom with a nominal constant voltage. The calibration unit has a programme emitter comprising a synchronous motor 11 which drives a contactor roller 13 operating micro switches to control the cycle of operations in the test. In operation an electro-magnetic valve 4 is caused to close by the contactor roller to interrupt the flow of working gas to the analyzer 7 and a valve 6 is opened to admit test gas via conduit 8 to the analyzer. The voltage output from analyzer 7 is compared with a constant voltage source 3 and any difference voltage operates a motor 14 to adjust a separate control unit 15 to reduce the difference to zero. The cycle is then repeated with a second test gas, a motor 16 on unit 17 serving to reduce the voltage difference. A graphic recorder 18 registers the errors of the analytical instrument 7 as occurring and as reduced.
